Description

Get up close and personal with California’s majestic Pacific Gray Whales during this 3-hour whale-watching excursion from San Diego.

San Diego has become a global destination for visitors to observe one of the longest migrations on our planet, that of the Pacific Gray Whale. Each year, thousands of these gentle giants pass right offshore as they head south to the calving lagoons of Baja Mexico and then back North returning to their traditional feeding grounds in the Bering Sea. Marine Sanctuaries established along the seacoast provide a haven for a diversity of wildlife, all of which are commonly observed. Interpretation is provided by the team of experienced captains with decades of time on the water identifying wildlife of the region.

The fleet of whale watching vessels are U.S. Coast Guard Certified and built for the open sea. Full walk around decks put you right in the open providing an unparalleled experience in terms of observation. Spacious and comfortable, our vessels offer both indoor and outside seating as well as full service galleys. When you choose to watch whales from San Diego, trust these sea-savvy pioneers celebrating more than 50 years of whale watching adventures.

Whale Watching at H&M Landing

H&M Landing was founded in 1935 specializing in Eco-Tourism and Wildlife Adventures. All of our trips take place in the pristine waters surrounding Point Loma along the coast and coastal Marine Sanctuaries. H&M Landing transports thousands of visitors each year offering wildlife interpretation with informative narration of this unique region where deep submarine canyons and dramatic seamounts offer upwelling’s that support a variety of marine wildlife. With temperate waters located just offshore, the diversity of wildlife observed is unparalleled when compared to any other region along our coast.

Mexico’s Pacific Island Biosphere (the equivalent to our National Parks and Marine Reserves) is located just 14 miles away providing a virtual sanctuary for wildlife of the region. Commonly observed are Seals, Sea Lions, Dolphin, Whales and a variety of Aquatic Bird species.

Our tours depart daily. Come join us for the adventure!
