A sober, alcohol-free dance party on the Fourth — Daybreaker hits Progress Park July 4, 7–10 PM.

Overview

Looking for a Fourth of July celebration that doesn't revolve around a drink in your hand? Here's something completely different. Daybreaker brings its alcohol- and substance-free dance party to Progress Park on the evening of Saturday, July 4 — three hours of pure, unfiltered dancing with a community that shows up to connect, sweat, and be gloriously themselves. No alcohol, no VIP, no bottle service — just world-class DJs, live musicians, free coffee, and a dance floor made for actual dancing.

A nice bonus for the holiday: many Daybreaker events famously happen at sunrise, so this 7 PM start makes it an easy, accessible way to experience one — and a wholesome, high-energy way to spend the Fourth.

What Is Daybreaker?

Daybreaker is a global sober dance movement, now in its 13th year. It started in 2013 when co-founders Radha Agrawal and Matthew Brimer dreamed up a wild idea over late-night falafel: what if you could dance with total abandon — completely sober — and turn nightlife on its head? They threw their first party in a Brooklyn coffee-shop basement, and the movement has since grown to 66 cities worldwide, with dance floors everywhere from museums to the White House.

It's multigenerational, majority-female and minority-owned, and 100% independent — no investors, no VIP tiers. Just diverse crowds of all ages connecting through movement, in the kind of warm, open, no-judgment atmosphere you don't usually find on a dance floor. As they put it: come solo or come with your crew, and leave with new friends.

Who It's For
