What it's really like
North Park is a historic urban neighborhood in central San Diego, built primarily between the 1910s and 1940s and known for its Craftsman bungalows, Spanish revival cottages, and walkable commercial corridors along University Avenue and 30th Street. Restoration projects like the Observatory North Park theater and the surrounding cluster of restaurants and breweries have made the neighborhood one of the city's primary dining and nightlife destinations.
Located east of Hillcrest and north of Balboa Park, North Park is one of San Diego's most walkable neighborhoods, with a Walk Score in the high 80s along the central corridors. It draws a mix of first-time buyers, design and hospitality professionals, and longtime residents restoring older homes.
