This is one of the best evening markets in the city, and it's worth being clear about what kind of market it is.
Of the 74 vendors on the official roster, five are produce or farm stands. The largest categories are prepared foods (17) and pantry and specialty packaged goods (12), plus ten baked-goods and dessert sellers, five beverage vendors, three meat and seafood stalls, and roughly nine artisan and gift sellers.
So: it's a dinner market. You come at 5 on a Thursday, eat something, listen to the music, buy a loaf of bread and a candle, and walk home through North Park. That's a genuinely good evening. It's just not where you do the week's shopping.
Where it does excel on access: it takes SNAP/EBT, Market Match and WIC, all three — which puts it well ahead of most markets in the county — and it runs a loyalty program where ten visits across twenty vendors earns you a $5 market-bucks token.

It's a Street Closure, Not a Lot
North Park Way closes from Ray Street to Granada Avenue, across the 30th Street intersection — three blocks of the neighborhood's main commercial spine. The market expanded to that third block in 2022.
That's why it feels different from a parking-lot market. You're walking the same street as the bars and restaurants, with the market layered on top.

What's There
Live music and entertainment, regularly — Navy Band Southwest has played during Fleet Week. No weekly schedule is published, so treat it as likely rather than promised.
Kids' activities. December markets have included a Santa visit and free toys. This is one of the few markets in the county with genuine children's programming rather than just tolerance of children.
Seventeen prepared-food vendors, which is the real draw, plus ten dessert and baked-goods sellers.
Five farm stands. Enough for a good tomato, not enough for a shop.
