Bay Ho

The short version

A western Clairemont pocket where the exact street matters.

Bay Ho is part of Clairemont, with a different orientation from the Bay Park streets farther south. The City's Clairemont neighborhood map places it on the western side of the community. San Clemente Canyon and Marian Bear Memorial Park provide a useful northern reference point; Balboa Avenue and Morena Boulevard help orient the trip toward transit.

The appeal to investigate here is the relationship between a residential address and the wider city. Compare the route to the Blue Line's Balboa Avenue station with the route to everyday shopping on the mesa. Neither should be assumed from the neighborhood label alone. A short distance across canyon terrain or a freeway corridor can be a different trip on foot.

Marian Bear's public entrances are on Genesee Avenue and Regents Road, so choose an entrance from the official map rather than following a tempting line down a canyon edge. When comparing Bay Ho with Bay Park, use the same destinations and travel at the times you would normally go. That comparison is more informative than treating all of western Clairemont as interchangeable.
