chef JUN Is Two Restaurants With One Name — and You Need to Know Which Is Which
One location does $219 sushi platters and a weekday lunch special. The other does all-you-can-eat. Picking the wrong one is an expensive mistake in either direction.
Overview
chef JUN has two San Diego locations, and they are not the same restaurant.
Bay Ho is a sushi and kappo restaurant — à la carte, with tasting courses, pressed oshi sushi, a weekday happy hour and lunch specials.
Point Loma is all-you-can-eat.
Same name, same ownership, completely different evening. The menus overlap on the à la carte side, but one has a $219 sushi platter for two and the other has a $41.99 unlimited option. Turning up at the wrong one expecting the other is the single most likely mistake here, so the practical content of this article is: pick deliberately.

Point Loma — the all-you-can-eat one
Rosecrans St, Suite B, San Diego, CA 92110 · (619) 782-9484
Inside Loma Square, at Midway Dr and Rosecrans St. See the note below about the street number.
Hours: Tuesday–Friday 5–9:30 p.m., Saturday–Sunday 12–9:30 p.m. Closed Monday.
All you can eat:
- Standard — $41.99 adult, $21.99 children 3–10, under 2 free
- Premium — $93.99 adult, $44.99 children 10 and under, under 2 free
Standard covers the small dishes, thirteen specialty rolls, maki, and the standard nigiri and sashimi list.
Premium adds calamari, chashu fried rice, albop, ramen, the Ruby Red and Protein and San Diego rolls, the toro roll (one per person), and the premium maki, nigiri and sashimi.
Some items are limited per person on the premium tier — the toro roll, negi toro, unagi, amaebi, uni and bluefin belly.
Point Loma also has two things Bay Ho doesn't: Yakisoba or Yakiudon $15 / $19 / $23 (veggie / chicken / seafood) and Albop $24, a hot stone rice bowl with fish roe.
It has no course menus, no Kaidan platters, no happy hour and no lunch specials.

The Takeaway
Go to Bay Ho on a Wednesday at noon and order the $26 lunch special.
What makes chef JUN worth understanding is that the two locations serve genuinely different purposes — one is where you go to eat carefully, the other is where you go to eat a lot — and the name gives you no clue which is which.
