A live "Love is Blind"-style dating show at Orfila Winery — same-day dates and vineyard vibes, June 28.
If you're over the apps, this is the antidote — and this edition has a setting to match. The On The Spot Dating Show brings its live, "Love is Blind"-style dating experience to Orfila Vineyards & Winery in Escondido on Sunday, June 28 — a vineyard, a Sunday afternoon, sunshine, and wine in hand. It's part dating event, part social experiment, part live entertainment, where local singles meet, match, and go on a date that same day. Ghosting isn't an option and spontaneity is rewarded.
Here's the fun part: this is On The Spot's first-ever daytime show, first-ever winery show, and first-ever Escondido show — so it's a special one. Come to spark a connection, make new friends, or just enjoy the show with a glass of Orfila's wine.
This is not speed dating — no timers, no rotating tables, no forced awkward silences. The afternoon runs in two parts:
The live show. A "Chooser" leads a playful, intentional Q&A with three mystery contestants — hidden behind a partition, Love is Blind style — then picks who they want to date, sight unseen. It plays out over two rounds in front of a live, cheering audience, with matches made in real time on stage. Every match goes on a date, and for this winery edition, the dates are free private wine tastings right at Orfila — no one has to spend their own money.
The singles mixer. After the show, the floor opens up to everyone — singles, non-singles, wine in hand. It's the best part of a party with none of the small-talk dread: just good energy, good wine, and a vineyard full of people who all showed up on purpose.
You don't have to just watch — you can be in it. On The Spot lets attendees sign up ahead of time for a chance to be selected as a Chooser or a mystery Contestant. If you want to be in the hot seat (and maybe leave with a date), fill out their selection form when you grab your ticket.
Picture it: an outdoor vineyard setting, rolling hills, Sunday afternoon sunshine, Orfila's wines in your hand, and a crowd full of fun, social, single (and single-friendly) adults who all came on purpose. It's the Sunday you've been waiting for all week.
However the afternoon shakes out, it's one of the more memorable ways to spend a Sunday as a San Diego single. For more things to do around the county, browse our full event calendar.
