Overview

Ride the Point invites cyclists of all skill levels to explore San Diego’s coastal beauty, historic neighborhoods, and scenic roads on Saturday, November 7, 2026. Organised in memory of Jim Kraus, this charity cycling event raises vital funds for pancreatic cancer research while taking riders through Point Loma, Ocean Beach, Mission Bay, La Jolla, Torrey Pines, and Sorrento Valley.

Whether you're looking for a casual 5-mile cruise along San Diego Bay or challenging street routes with exclusive climbs, the event offers courses tailored to every rider. Non-cyclists are also invited to Liberty Station to enjoy a free outdoor Healthy Lifestyle Expo featuring local vendors, music, and refreshments.

Event: Ride the Point — 13th Annual Jim Kraus Memorial Charity Cycling Event

When: Saturday, November 7, 2026 — Rides start at 7:00 a.m. (25-Mile & Metric Century) and 8:00 a.m. (Family Fun Ride); Expo runs 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Where: Point Loma Nazarene University Conference Center at Liberty Station — 2600 Laning Rd, San Diego, CA 92106 (Point Loma)

Cost: $25 (Family Fun Ride / Student Rate / Military Rate) | $70 (25-Mile) | $90 (Metric Century) | $200 (VIP Package) | Expo is free to attend

Age Limit: All ages welcome ($10 rate for riders 18 & under on the Family Fun Ride)

Course Options & Pricing

  • Family Fun Ride ($25 / $10 for ages 0–18): A flat 5-mile cruise along scenic bike paths surrounding San Diego Bay, perfect for families and beginner cyclists.
  • 25-Mile Ride ($70): A road course taking riders through coastal neighborhoods and scenic vistas.
  • Metric Century Ride ($90): A challenging street course with exclusive routes and climbs stretching up through Torrey Pines and Sorrento Valley.
  • VIP Ride Package ($200): Includes ride registration, VIP reception, event jersey, lunch, reserved parking, and exclusive SWAG.
  • Special Discounted Rates ($25): Available for students (ages 18–24) and active-duty military personnel.

Good to Know

  • Packet Pickup: Pre-event packet pickup takes place on Friday, November 6, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., or race-day morning from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
  • Support & Rest Stops: Routes feature SAG support vehicles, volunteers along the course, and fully stocked rest stops.
  • Free Public Expo: The Healthy Lifestyle Expo in Liberty Station is completely free to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., featuring live music, local health vendors, and refreshments.
  • Parking: Ample public parking is available throughout Liberty Station surrounding the PLNU Conference Center.
