William Routt·Jun 5, 2026·5 min.

The 20th annual Del Mar Village Summer Solstice at Powerhouse Park, Thursday June 18 from 5–8 PM. Unlimited tastings from 15+ restaurants, craft cocktails, live music. 21+.

Overview

The Del Mar Village Summer Solstice returns to Powerhouse Park on Thursday, June 18, 2026 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM — a 20th anniversary edition of one of San Diego's most beloved summer kickoff events. Powerhouse Park sits directly on the Pacific in the heart of Del Mar Village, and on Solstice night, it transforms into an open-air culinary playground featuring elevated bites from 15+ Del Mar Village restaurants, craft cocktails, wine, beer, and live music — all just steps from the ocean.

This is the only event of its kind in San Diego, and it sells out every year.

What's Included with Your Ticket

  • Unlimited tastings of elevated bites from Del Mar Village's finest chefs
  • Craft cocktails, wine, and beer from local and nationally recognized brands
  • Interactive food and beverage activations
  • Live music from a Grammy-nominated band
  • Commemorative tasting glass to take home
  • Ocean views and golden-hour beach atmosphere

It's a one-night-only event where the food, drinks, music, and setting are all happening simultaneously, steps from the sand.

Who's Pouring and Plating

The restaurant lineup reads like a who's who of Del Mar Village dining, including:

  • Adelaide at L'Auberge Del Mar — refined coastal cuisine
  • Monarch Ocean Pub — modern American pub with bay views
  • Viewpoint Brewing Co. — local craft beer and elevated brewpub fare
  • Additional restaurants from across the Del Mar Village dining scene
  • Uncle Ed's Damn Good Vodka — featured craft cocktail partner

The full restaurant lineup is announced closer to the event — check Del Mar Village for the final roster.

Why It's Worth the Price

A few things make this event different from other summer food festivals:

1. It's actually on the beach. Powerhouse Park sits directly above the Del Mar shoreline. The sunset, the breeze, the ocean — none of that is decoration. It's the whole experience.

2. It's exclusive. Only ~500–800 tickets are sold, and it sells out every single year. The price keeps the crowd manageable, which means shorter lines, more chef time, and a more curated evening.

3. It supports local businesses. Net proceeds benefit the Del Mar Village Association, which advocates for and supports Del Mar's small businesses. Your ticket genuinely helps keep the neighborhood thriving.

4. It's the 20th anniversary. This year's edition celebrates two decades of Summer Solstice — expect special programming, anniversary touches, and a bigger lineup than usual.

What to Bring

  • Photo ID — required for check-in (21+ event)
  • Your ticket (printed or on your phone) — required for entry
  • Layers — the bluff can be windy as the sun sets
  • Comfortable shoes — you'll be on grass for three hours

Good to Know

  • Check-in is at the venue entrance at Powerhouse Park, 1658 Coast Boulevard
  • 21+ only — no exceptions
  • No early entry without a VIP ticket — line up at the entrance
  • Plan around the San Diego County Fair — fair traffic peaks the same week, so leave plenty of time
  • Rideshare drop-off is on the east side of Coast Blvd., across from Powerhouse Park
  • No refunds, no exceptions
  • Tickets sell out every year — buy in advance
