Into The Horizon Festival: Tiësto & Martin Garrix at Waterfront Park, June 27–28, 2026

Bree Partington·Jun 12, 2026·5 min.

Insomniac's Into The Horizon Festival at Waterfront Park, June 27-28. Tiësto headlines Saturday with ZHU, Martin Garrix closes Sunday with James Hype and Lost Frequencies. 21+ EDM.

Overview

Into The Horizon Festival returns to Waterfront Park on Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28, 2026 — two days of cinematic, big-room electronic music presented by Insomniac on the downtown San Diego bayfront. Tiësto headlines Saturday, Martin Garrix closes Sunday, and the festival's signature production transforms Waterfront Park into one of the biggest electronic weekends San Diego sees all year.

It's 21+ only, open-air, and unapologetically polished — the kind of festival where the crowd is as much the show as the stage.

This is one of the strongest electronic festival lineups San Diego has seen in years. Martin Garrix arrives fresh off his AMERICAS Tour — a 16-city North and South America campaign that kicked off in May 2026 — meaning by the time he hits the Waterfront stage, he'll be in peak performance form.

Tiësto returns to Into The Horizon as a familiar headliner; San Diego has consistently been one of his strongest markets, and this is his second time topping the bill at the festival.

Why Into The Horizon Is a Big Deal

Three things make Into The Horizon stand out from other San Diego electronic festivals:

1. The waterfront setting. Waterfront Park sits on 12 acres directly on San Diego Bay, with the downtown skyline as a natural backdrop. Sunset sets at the festival are some of the best electronic music moments you'll find anywhere in California.

2. The 21+ format. Unlike all-ages festivals, Into The Horizon is a polished adults-only experience — the crowd skews 25-40, the production is dialed in, and the vibe is more cosmopolitan than collegiate.

3. Insomniac's production game. As the production company behind EDC Las Vegas and other massive festivals, Insomniac brings stage design, sound, and lighting that rivals any festival in the country. Two days of full production on the San Diego bayfront is a rare combination.

Getting to Waterfront Park

Downtown San Diego traffic on festival weekends is brutal — plan ahead.

  • MTS Trolley: Green Line drops you at the County Center/Little Italy station, two blocks from the park
  • Rideshare: Designated zones around the festival area; expect surge pricing
  • Driving: Limited street parking and nearby paid lots; expect heavy congestion
  • Bike valet is sometimes offered at Waterfront Park events — check the official site closer to the date

The smart play is the trolley. Traffic in downtown on festival days is consistently terrible.

What to Bring

  • Photo ID — required for entry (21+)
  • Your ticket (printed or mobile)
  • Layers — bayside cools off after sunset, especially after dark
  • Comfortable shoes — you'll be on your feet for hours
  • Cash and cards for food, drinks, and merch
  • Hydration plan — water refill stations are typically available, but check the venue's bag/bottle policy

Festival Policies

  • 21+ only (no exceptions)
  • No outside food, drinks, or alcohol
  • Bag policy typically restricts large bags; check the official site
  • No re-entry is standard for most Insomniac events
  • No cameras with detachable lenses without media credentials

Good to Know

  • Pair with The Garage by Toyota Racing — Waterfront Park is the city's go-to outdoor concert venue
  • Pair with San Diego County Fair — same weekend, big-headline music is also at Del Mar Fairgrounds (Good Charlotte June 20, etc.)
  • June Gloom could affect early afternoon sets — the marine layer usually burns off by the time headliners hit the stage
  • The festival ends around 10:30 PM per Waterfront Park noise restrictions
