The Padres host the Braves Tuesday, June 23 at 6:40 PM at Petco Park — First Responder Salute to Law Enforcement with 25% off tickets via GOVX.
The San Diego Padres continue their three-game series against the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 with first pitch at 6:40 PM at Petco Park. Tuesday is one of the Padres' annual First Responder Salutes, presented by GOVX — specifically honoring local law enforcement and the men and women who serve and protect San Diego County.
A portion of each ticket purchased through the First Responder program goes back to local law enforcement charities supporting the Special Olympics. It's one of the most meaningful nights on the 2026 Padres home schedule.
The Padres host three First Responder Salutes annually, each dedicated to a different branch of San Diego's first-responder community:
June 23 is the season's Law Enforcement honor night. The pregame includes a ceremony recognizing officers from San Diego Police, the Sheriff's Department, California Highway Patrol, US Customs & Border Protection, FBI, DEA, Red Cross, and other organizations on the front line of community service.
The Padres traditionally include a Home Plate ceremony and a Warning Track Salute before first pitch — so arrive at least 30 minutes early to see the full presentation.
The First Responder discount is available online only, with verification through GOVX:
The discount is for first responders and their families — not just the individuals themselves. It's the Padres' way of recognizing the broader support system that allows first responders to do their jobs.
A few reasons to plan around June 23:
1. The pregame ceremony. The Padres' First Responder Salutes are some of the most genuine and well-produced pregame moments of the season — worth the early arrival even if you're not a first responder yourself.
2. The Braves are a serious team. Atlanta consistently fields one of the National League's deepest rosters — Ronald Acuña Jr., Matt Olson, Sean Murphy, Spencer Strider when healthy. NL East–vs–NL West matchups always carry late-June playoff implications.
3. Tuesday weeknight crowds. Easier parking, shorter concession lines, and the kind of stadium energy that doesn't get bogged down by weekend traffic.
Party in the Park starts when gates open in Gallagher Square. Drink specials begin at $5, there's live music throughout the pregame, and the First Responder programming adds a meaningful layer beyond the usual setup. Arriving at gate opening means you'll see the full pregame ceremony.
Parking ranges from $15 to $55 depending on proximity. The three Padres Preferred lots open four hours before first pitch:
The smart play is the MTS Trolley — $5 round-trip with free parking at transit lots. The 12th & Imperial Station and Gaslamp Quarter Station are within one block of the ballpark.
