Your San Diego weekend guide for June 5–7 — Padres vs. Mets, two World Cup tune-ups at Snapdragon, North Park Music Fest, and more.

Overview

San Diego's first full weekend of June is stacked. Two World Cup tune-up matches at Snapdragon Stadium, a three-game Padres-Mets series at Petco Park, the biggest one-day music festival in North Park, a mountain-town festival in Julian, and Coronado's free summer concert series all collide on the same weekend. Whether you want soccer, baseball, live music, outdoor yoga, or a farmers market wander, here's everything happening from Friday to Sunday — and where to read more on each.

Padres vs. Mets at Petco Park (Friday – Sunday, June 5–7)

The Padres host the New York Mets for a three-game series at Petco Park, with each day bringing a different theme. Friday kicks off with Mexican Heritage Celebration at 6:40 PM — a special-edition Mexican Heritage hat with theme ticket package and a packed Party in the Park pregame in Gallagher Square. Saturday is Taiwanese Heritage Celebration at 7:10 PM with its own commemorative hat and the biggest crowd of the weekend, and Sunday wraps with KidsFest at 1:10 PM — bounce houses in Gallagher Square and Kids Run the Bases on the field after the 8th inning.

Countdown to '26 Soccer Series at Snapdragon Stadium (Saturday & Sunday, June 6–7)

San Diego FC hosts two international friendlies at Snapdragon Stadium as part of the Countdown to '26 series — tune-up matches for four World Cup-bound national teams ahead of the tournament's June 11 kickoff. Saturday at noon brings Switzerland vs. Australia (Switzerland chose San Diego as their official World Cup basecamp), and Sunday at 4 PM is Colombia vs. Jordan — with Jordan making their first-ever World Cup appearance and a commemorative match scarf add-on available. Tickets for both matches are at SanDiegoFC.com/CountdownTo26.

Open Air Yoga at San Diego Botanic Garden (Saturday, June 6)

Open Air Yoga at San Diego Botanic Garden runs from 9:00 to 10:00 AM in Encinitas — a one-hour outdoor flow set among 37 acres of botanical gardens, including the largest public bamboo collection in North America. The class fee includes full-day Garden admission, so the smart play is sticking around to explore after savasana. $17 for members, $27 for non-members (walk-up rates are slightly higher). Read the full Open Air Yoga guide here for what to bring and how to register.

Julian Town Square Music Festival (Saturday, June 6)

The 5th Annual Julian Town Square Music Festival returns to the mountain town of Julian starting at 12:00 PM — a free, family-friendly outdoor concert featuring six live bands including Tim Flannery & The Lunatic Fringe and Sara Petite. It's a community fundraiser disguised as a festival, with proceeds supporting the continued development of the Julian Town Square. Parking is $10 at Frank Lane Park. Read the full Julian Town Square Music Festival guide here for the lineup, vendors, and what to expect.

North Park Music Fest (Saturday, June 6)

The biggest one-day music festival in North Park returns with 40+ live acts across 8+ neighborhood venues — all on one $25 wristband. Headliner Frankie & The Witch Fingers closes the main stage at 8:45 PM, with late-night VIP-only sets from Cut Chemist and Gaslamp Killer running until 1:45 AM at Granada House. Wander from Queen Bee's to U-31 to The Office Bar and discover the bands you'll be telling people about for the next six months. Coronado Concerts in the Park: Blue Breeze Band (Sunday, June 7)

Coronado Concerts in the Park continues its 2026 season with the debut of Blue Breeze Band at Spreckels Park on Sunday, June 7 at 6:00 PM — contemporary hits with R&B, pop, and dance grooves. The evening also features the announcement of the 2026 Music Scholarship Winners, the Coronado Promenade Concerts' investment in the next generation of local musicians. Free, family-friendly, and BYO picnic; reserve your space on the lawn starting at 3:00 PM. Read the full Coronado Concerts Blue Breeze Band guide here for what to bring and park rules.

Little Italy Mercato (Saturday, June 6)

San Diego County's largest farmers market takes over six blocks of Little Italy every Saturday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM — 175+ vendors, fresh produce, artisan foods, flowers, prepared breakfast bites, and live buskers down West Date Street. It's the kind of place that turns "let's grab breakfast" into a three-hour wander, and it pairs perfectly with a downtown waterfront stroll afterward. Free to browse — bring cash for vendors. Read the full Little Italy Mercato guide here for parking tips, what to buy, and how to make it part of your Saturday.
