Your San Diego weekend guide for June 18-21. NASCAR's first race on a military base, 3 concerts you won't want to miss, Del Mar Village Summer Solstice, puppy yoga, House & HYROX, and Father's Day options.
I've been doing this long enough to know a stacked weekend when I see one — and this one's historic. Here's my rundown of where I'd be, Thursday through Sunday — and for everything else going on, check the full event calendar.
If you only do one thing Thursday, make it this. The 20th annual Del Mar Village Summer Solstice is back at Powerhouse Park in Del Mar from 5:00 to 8:00 PM (VIP gets in at 4), and it's exactly the kind of evening San Diego does better than anywhere — 15+ Del Mar Village restaurants, craft cocktails, wine, beer, and live Grammy-nominated music with the ocean right there behind it all. General admission is $135.23, VIP is $161.90, and it's 21+. This is the 20th anniversary edition, which they're billing as the biggest yet, and I'll tell you from experience: it sells out every single year, so don't sit on it. Read the full Del Mar Summer Solstice guide here for ticket info and what's included.
This is the rare Friday plan where you can earn your night out before it even starts. House and HYROX takes over Fitness Quest 10 in Pacific Beach from 7:00 to 10:00 PM — a one-hour, DJ-fueled HYROX-style workout (running, rowing, sled pushes, wall balls, burpees, all under glow-stick lighting) that rolls straight into a two-hour house-music afterparty with drinks and dancing. Coach Leah runs the workout from 7–8, then the celebration takes over. Sweat through one of the fastest-growing formats in fitness and stay out for the party, all on Garnet Avenue in the heart of PB. I love a plan that does double duty. Read the full House and HYROX guide here for tickets and what to bring.
I dare you to find a more wholesome Saturday morning. Kane's K9's Rescue Puppy Yoga is at Bay City Brewing Co from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM (doors at 10:45) — an hour of gentle, all-levels yoga with adoptable rescue puppies wandering the room for cuddles between poses. It's part wellness class, part community hangout, part fundraiser, and the best part is every dollar goes right back into animal care. Bring your own mat and get there early, because these fill up fast. Read the full Rescue Puppy Yoga guide here for tickets and details.
If you're heading to North County, this is how I'd open the weekend. Carlsbad's TGIF Concerts in the Parks kicks off its 40th season at Stagecoach Community Park in Carlsbad with The Pistol Blonde — A Tribute to the Women of Country. It's free, it's family-friendly, and it runs from 4:00 to 9:00 PM with music starting at 5:15. This is the only show in the whole 2026 lineup built entirely around country music's legendary women, which makes it a fun one to catch. Read the full Pistol Blonde guide here for the full TGIF lineup and what to bring.
Here's the one I'd circle if EDM is your thing. Marshmello headlines the San Diego County Fair's Corona Grandstand Stage at 7:30 PM — the biggest electronic booking of the Fair season. With 16.8 billion+ Spotify streams and hits like "Happier," "Friends," and "Silence," this is an arena-scale act in a setting that feels way more intimate than it should. And my favorite part: your ticket includes same-day Fair admission, so you're getting two events for one price. Read the full Marshmello guide here for ticket tiers, the Toyota Summer Concert Series lineup, and what to know.
This is the headline, and it's a genuine first. NASCAR is making history this weekend with the first-ever NASCAR Cup Series race held on an active U.S. military base — three days of racing on the brand-new Qualcomm Circuit, a 3.4-mile, 16-turn course built right on Naval Base Coronado. The main event is the Anduril 250 Cup Series race on Sunday, June 21, with Truck and Xfinity Series races building up to it. One thing to know before you plan: Friday's Truck Series is closed to the general public, but Saturday and Sunday are ticketed and open. Read the full NASCAR San Diego Weekend guide here for tickets, course details, and what to expect.
Madison Beer brings The Locket Tour to Gallagher Square at Petco Park on Sunday, with doors at 6:00 PM and the show at 7:00 — the Grammy-nominated pop artist's San Diego stop, with Thủy and Lulu Simon opening. It's general admission, with a VIP experience available. And I'll say it: Gallagher Square is one of the most pleasant places to catch a show in this city — open-air, downtown skyline views, Petco's architecture as the backdrop. Read the full Madison Beer guide here for ticket info and what to expect.
This one's a bucket-list booking. Bob Dylan brings his Rough and Rowdy Ways Tour to The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park at 6:30 PM — his first billed appearance at the Shell and his only San Diego stop on the 2026 tour. The 85-year-old Nobel laureate is joined by Lucinda Williams and Her Band and The John Doe Folk Trio, which makes this one of the most anticipated Rady Shell nights of the year. Tickets start around $96. Read the full Bob Dylan guide here for the setlist preview, transit tips, and what to expect.
Don't forget — Sunday is also Father's Day, and honestly it's one of the strongest Dad-day lineups I've seen here. There's a Talladega Nights-themed brunch at Town and Country Resort, an Angel's Envy whiskey tasting on the Point Loma waterfront, an elevated BBQ at Rancho Valencia with the U.S. Open final round on screens, and a free Father's Day BBQ at Fox Point Farms in Encinitas. Read the full Father's Day in San Diego 2026 roundup here for all the best options.
