Overview
beabadoobee brings The Powerlines Tour to Viejas Arena on Saturday, October 24, with Wisp opening.
This one is worth flagging for what it represents: it is her first ever arena tour, launched in October behind her new album Pylon. San Diego is on a run that covers North America, the UK and Europe — and it is the first time she has played rooms this size.
Doors at 7:00 PM, music at 8:00 PM, on the SDSU campus.

Two venue policies trip up first-timers every single show here, and both are worth knowing before you leave the house.
It is a cashless venue. Viejas Arena does not take cash at all — not at concessions, not at merch. If you only have cash, there are no-fee cash-to-card kiosks behind the Ticket Office at the Main Gate and at Gate 3, but that is a queue you would rather skip.
It is a clear bag venue, and backpacks are banned outright. Bags must be clear plastic or clear vinyl, no larger than 12" x 6" x 12", or a one-gallon clear freezer bag. Small purses, clutches and wallets are allowed clear or not, up to 4.5" x 6.5". Everything gets inspected at the gate.
One more for this date: there is active construction on campus, and the venue is warning of delays getting out onto Canyon Crest Drive afterward. Build in extra time at the end of the night, or plan to let the lot clear.
Who Is beabadoobee?
beabadoobee is Beatrice Kristi Laus, a Filipino-British singer and songwriter born in Iloilo and raised in London. She started posting bedroom recordings as a teenager, signed to Dirty Hit, and has spent the years since moving from lo-fi guitar sketches toward full, 90s-indebted indie rock.
Her 2017 track "Coffee" is the one most people have heard without knowing it — it was sampled on Powfu's "death bed," which became inescapable. The albums since have been the real story: Fake It Flowers (2020), Beatopia (2022), This Is How Tomorrow Moves (2024), and now Pylon.
Where to start if you don't know her:
- "Coffee" (2017) — the one you have already heard
- "Care" — from Fake It Flowers, and the loudest entry point
- "the perfect pair" — from Beatopia
- This Is How Tomorrow Moves (2024) — the full-album listen
Wisp, opening, is worth arriving early for. She makes shoegaze — walls of guitar, buried vocals — and broke out on the strength of "Your Face." If you have not heard her, the contrast with beabadoobee's cleaner songwriting makes for a good pairing.
The Venue
Viejas Arena sits on the San Diego State campus in the College Area, and it is the mid-size arena for the county — bigger than the Observatory or SOMA, considerably smaller than an NFL stadium. For an artist playing arenas for the first time, it is a good room to catch her in.
The trolley is the move. The SDSU Transit Center sits directly on campus and is served by the MTS Green Line, which means you can get here from Downtown, Mission Valley or points east without dealing with campus parking at all. Given the construction advisory this month, that is more appealing than usual.
If you do drive, prepaid parking is available through the venue and worth buying in advance rather than sorting it out on the night.
Good to Know
- Doors and start are an hour apart — 7:00 PM doors, 8:00 PM scheduled start
- Cashless venue. Card or phone only, or use the cash-to-card kiosks
- Clear bags only, no backpacks. See the sizes above
- Campus construction means exit delays onto Canyon Crest Drive — leave margin
- Check the venue's A-Z guide and prohibited items list before you go; arena rules are stricter than club rules
- Buy ahead. A first arena tour behind a new album is not the kind of date that gets cheaper at the door
Make a Night of It
SDSU sits in the College Area on the eastern side of the city, with El Cajon Boulevard running west from campus toward City Heights, University Heights and North Park — all of them ten to fifteen minutes away and all with far more to eat and drink than the immediate campus strip.
If you are taking the Green Line, Mission Valley is a few stops west and Downtown San Diego is at the end of the line, which makes a pre-show dinner easy from either.
