Fallbrook Marches Down Main Avenue at 10 a.m. on Veterans Day

Ten in the morning on the eleventh, down Main Avenue. A two-hour parade in a town that shares a fence line with Camp Pendleton.

Overview

The Fallbrook Veterans Day Parade goes down Main Avenue on Wednesday, November 11, from 10 a.m. to noon.

And unlike most of San Diego County's Veterans Day events, this one is actually on Veterans Day.

That's worth saying because several aren't — a number of the county's bigger ceremonies move to the nearest weekend. Fallbrook holds its parade on the eleventh itself, at eleven o'clock's near neighbour, in the middle of a working Wednesday.

Here's why that matters in this particular town.

Fallbrook shares a boundary with Camp Pendleton.

It's the civilian town immediately inland of the largest Marine Corps base on the West Coast — which means the people on the sidewalk are not a general audience being shown a parade. They're neighbours, families and former Marines watching their own. Fallbrook's Veterans Day is a different thing from a municipal observance, and it reads that way in person.

The Route

Down Main Avenue:

  • Starts at Fallbrook Street and Main Avenue
  • Ends at Alvarado Street

That's downtown Fallbrook's main stretch — the same half-mile the Christmas parade and the Avocado Festival use. It's walkable end to end, and anywhere along it works.

Get there before ten. Main Avenue is a two-lane road through a village centre; it fills.

How to Go

  • When: Wednesday, November 11, 2026, 10 a.m.–12 p.m.
  • Where: Main Avenue, Fallbrook — from Fallbrook Street to Alvarado Street
  • Organised by the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce
  • Admission: not published — see the note below

Good to Know

  • It's on Veterans Day itself, a Wednesday, not moved to a weekend.
  • Two hours, ten until noon.
  • Main Avenue end to end — stand anywhere between Fallbrook Street and Alvarado.
  • Arrive early. It's a village main street, not a boulevard.
  • It's a weekday morning, so if you're coming from central San Diego, that's an hour's drive against the morning direction.
  • Fallbrook has somewhere to eat afterwards. The village centre is right there and the parade ends in the middle of it.
  • The Chamber doesn't publish an admission price. Street parades are normally free to watch, but we'd confirm.

Why It's Worth It

Veterans Day in a military county can tip into the ceremonial very easily — a wreath, a speech, a photograph, done by lunchtime.

A small-town parade is the other version of it. Two hours, down a two-lane main street, in a town that lives next door to Camp Pendleton, on a Wednesday when everyone involved had to take the morning off to be there.

If you want the version with the fewest speeches and the most actual veterans, this is it.

One note if you're planning around the county: the Escondido VetFest parade also runs on the 11th, stepping off at 9:30 a.m. in Escondido — so the two overlap and you'd have to choose. And the Mount Soledad ceremony is on Saturday the 7th, four days earlier, if you'd rather not take a weekday off.
