San Diego Fleet Week: Two Weeks, 17 Events, and Which Ones Are Actually Free
Fleet Week runs November 1–15 with free ship tours on the Embarcadero, two base open houses, a boat parade on Veterans Day, and a Balboa Park concert — plus a handful of ticketed events that aren't for the general public
Overview
Fleet Week isn't one event. It's an umbrella over roughly seventeen separate things spread across two weeks and half the county — some free and walk-up, some free but requiring registration weeks ahead, some $750-a-table fundraisers, and one that's invitation-only.
Sorting those apart is the whole job of this guide, because the official site doesn't do it for you, and because its own schedule page is currently wrong — more on that below.
Run by the San Diego Fleet Week Foundation, a 501(c)(3) that has organized this since the late nineties.

Free and Walk-Up — No Registration
These are the ones to plan a day around.
Broadway Pier & Public Ship Tours — November 13–15, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
Broadway Pier, 1000 N. Harbor Drive. Active-duty Navy and Coast Guard vessels open for tours, plus live entertainment, interactive military displays, and defense-technology and maritime vendors on the pier. Free, no reservation mentioned.
Meet the Fleet at 32nd Street — November 7, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
Naval Base San Diego. Ship tours, military displays, live entertainment and food vendors on an active military base not normally open to the public — which makes this the more unusual of the two tour days. Free.
Military & Veteran Appreciation Concert — November 8, 6–8 p.m.
Spreckels Organ Pavilion, Balboa Park. Free.
Veterans & Military Boat Parade — November 11, 10:45 a.m.
San Diego Bay, starting from Shelter Island. Free to watch from shore.
Navy Band Concert — November 1, 2–4 p.m.
Bay Front Park, 980 Marina Way, Chula Vista. Free.
Free, But You Have to Register First
Navy & Marine Band Concert — November 6, 6–8 p.m., Symphony Hall, 750 B Street. Free but registration required. The ticket link wasn't posted yet as of writing.
Fleet Week Veterans Day 5K — November 11, 7:30–10 a.m. Course runs the Harbor Drive waterfront; on-site registration at Progress Park, 999 N. Harbor Drive. Pre-registration encouraged.
Military Family Day — November 15, 10 a.m.–4 p.m., Broadway Pier. Registration required, limited seating.
Fleet Week Football Classic — November 14, 6–9 p.m., Snapdragon Stadium, SDSU vs. Utah State. Registration required, limited seating.
Student STEM Days are school-registered, not walk-up: November 6 at Naval Base San Diego (5th grade and up, registration already closed) and November 10, 12 and 13 at Broadway Pier with the Innovation Zone (4th grade and up, registration closes October 30).
Ticketed and Invitation-Only
Worth knowing about so you don't plan around them:

- Port of San Diego Senior Leaders Seminar — November 12, InterContinental. By invitation only
Ship Tours: What to Expect
This is what most people mean when they say Fleet Week, so a few specifics.
Which ships hasn't been announced. The official language is "active duty U.S. Navy and Coast Guard vessels." Ship names and berthing assignments typically come out only days ahead, from the Navy rather than the Foundation.
Bring photo ID. The site's guidance: security screenings are conducted at all ship tours and many events, bring valid photo identification, and allow extra time.
Schedules change. The Foundation states plainly that all dates, times and locations are subject to change based on operational requirements and weather. For ship tours specifically, that isn't boilerplate — vessels get underway. Check the morning you go.
Getting There
Fleet Week publishes no parking plan, shuttle route or lot list for 2026 — just "arrive early and consider public transportation."
Take the trolley. The Blue and Green Lines both reach Santa Fe Depot, about a half-mile walk to Broadway Pier. Bus routes 923 and 992 stop at Broadway and N. Harbor Drive.
If you drive, the Port operates meters and pay stations along the North Embarcadero, Tuna Harbor and Ruocco Park. Downtown lots fill fast on tour days.

Good to Know
There is no air show this year, and no Blue Angels. If you've seen that listed, see the note below — it's from a placeholder page.
There's also no veterans' job fair, no motorcycle rally and no Sea & Air Parade in the 2026 lineup. The November 11 boat parade is the closest thing to a parade.
The two base days are different. November 7 at 32nd Street gets you onto a working naval station. November 13–15 at Broadway Pier is the downtown waterfront festival version. If you only do one, the base day is the rarer ticket.
Veterans Day stacks up. The 5K in the morning and the boat parade at 10:45 are both on November 11 and both on the waterfront.
