Grand Avenue Festival: Downtown Escondido Street Fair, Oct 18

William RouttSep 30, 20264 min.

Escondido Chamber’s Grand Avenue Festival Sunday Oct. 18, 2026, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Historic downtown Grand. Free to attend. Not Gather on Grand.

The Grand Avenue Festival is the Escondido Chamber’s long-running Sunday street fair on historic Grand — vendors, food, a community stage — not the DBA’s Gather on Grand a week later.

Overview

Notion and 2026 street-fair listings put it on Sunday, October 18, 2026, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. on Grand Avenue in downtown Escondido. The Chamber page at escondidochamber.org/grand-avenue-festival is still showing leftover Sunday, October 19, 2025, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. It has not rolled the year. Hours and “historic downtown Grand Avenue” match; the date you should plan for is Oct. 18, 2026.

This is a Chamber street festival, family-friendly, with music, food, handcrafted goods, vintage, and a Community Stage (they are still recruiting singers, dancers, bands, choirs, school groups). Aggregators disagree on vendor counts (300 vs 500) — the Chamber does not publish a number, so we are not picking one.

Not Gather on Grand (Oct. 25, City Gates / Downtown Business Association). Same street, different Sunday, different organizer.

What to Expect

Eight hours of a closed-feeling downtown: booths of crafts, art, food, vintage, and services; a Community Stage for local performers; the usual street-fair crush around lunch. Show up in the morning if you want parking that isn’t already hunting Grand.

Local 2026 coverage of this Chamber date says Grand between Escondido Blvd and Ivy is closed for the day — plan errands around that. The Chamber page itself does not spell the barricade block.

Art in the Garden at Heritage Garden (Juniper & Grand) is a separate juried show some years; don’t treat it as required GAF admission.

Good to Know

  • Confirm the date on the Chamber site before you drive; they have not updated 2025 → 2026 copy yet. Notion + street-fair calendars are on Oct. 18.
  • Kennedy Faires is listed as an extra info URL on the street-fair page; the phone to call is still the Chamber.
  • Don’t mix Oct. 18 (Chamber Grand Avenue Festival) with Oct. 25 (Gather on Grand).
  • Neighborhood parking is downtown Escondido, not a paid festival lot posted by the Chamber.

One Sunday on Grand. Free to walk, pay for tacos, ignore the stale 2025 headline.
