Borrego Days Desert Festival: Free Weekend in the Desert, Oct 17–18

William RouttSep 30, 20264 min.

60th annual Borrego Days at Christmas Circle Oct. 17–18. Free admission and parking. Saturday parade 9 a.m.; grounds to 6:30. Sunday 9:30–3.

Borrego Days is the Chamber’s free two-day desert festival at Christmas Circle — parade Saturday morning, grounds through the afternoon, then a shorter Sunday. Not a ticketed county fair.

Overview

The 60th Annual Borrego Days Desert Festival is Saturday–Sunday, October 17–18, 2026, produced by the Borrego Springs Chamber of Commerce at Christmas Circle Community Park, 700 Palm Canyon Drive. borregodays.com is the Festival Events hub (thin this year — vendor PDFs, dates, park). Hours, free admission, and free parking are on the Chamber listings for Saturday and Sunday. Parade theme, flyover, and named acts come from the Chamber’s visitor write-up on GoToBorregoSprings.

Admission is free. Parking around and near the park is free. There is no gate price to invent. For more around the county, browse the Hello San Diego event calendar.

What to Expect

Saturday is the long day. If you only catch the parade, be on Palm Canyon Drive by 9 a.m.; the route ends at Christmas Circle. Grounds don’t “open” until 10, so the flyover/anthem/parade are street, not booth hours.

Once the park is open: live entertainment, kids zone, vendors, art, a free-to-enter car show, and an adult beer garden. The visitor piece names Saturday music (DJs, PHT and the Honky Tonk Nights, Nacho Bustillos & Band) and Sunday cultural sets (Ballet Folklorico, Mariachi Estrella, Borrego Academy of Music and Art). Treat those as the Chamber’s posted lineup, not a locked festival app.

Parade theme for 2026: Reach for the Stars.

Sunday is the shorter, quieter half — 9:30 to 3, same park, no Saturday morning flyover/parade block on that listing.

Good to Know

  • Drive: This is Borrego Springs, unincorporated desert San Diego County — Anza-Borrego State Park country, not a neighborhood hop from North Park. Plan fuel, water, and sun. October still reads as desert afternoon heat on a Saturday that runs to 6:30.
  • Parking: Free around Christmas Circle and within walking distance. Arrive before the 9 a.m. parade if you want a curb that isn’t already watching floats.
  • Don’t pay a reseller for “admission.” Chamber and festival site say free.
  • Dark skies / sculptures are why people stay overnight; they are not festival tickets. Festival info stays on borregodays.com and 760-767-5555.

Two free days at the circle. Saturday if you want the parade; Sunday if you want the shorter loop.
