San Diego's largest celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month takes over Balboa Park's International Cottages with traditional performances from a dozen countries — Japan, China, Philippines, Vietnam, Korea, Hawaii, Polynesia, and more — plus food, vendors, and cultural exhibits. One Sunday a year, the Coronado Bay Bridge opens to pedestrians — and May 17 is that day. The 39th annual point-to-point race starts downtown at 8 AM, crosses the bridge with 200-foot bay views, and finishes at Tidelands Park in Coronado. An annual charity afternoon mixing Porsches, craft beer, and canine companionship at Hopnonymous Brewing on Convoy from 12–3 PM. Expect live music from One. Foot.
